A New Season
A new season is upon us in many ways. Fall is here and at TETAF that means it is a season of opportunities. For anyone seeking contact hours, we have another virtual TETAF Hospital Data Management Course this month. It is also time to seek nominations for the TETAF Board of Directors. Our organization has been fortunate through the years with so many exceptional leaders giving their time and expertise to our organization. If you or someone you know would be a great addition to our board, more details regarding nominating are below. I look forward to seeing new leaders join our board.
January will not only bring new faces to our board, but it is also the start of a new legislative session. The TETAF Advocacy Committee is meeting more frequently and preparing its strategies. This summer, the TETAF Board approved the TETAF Legislative Priorities which are used as a guide of the top priorities TETAF will focus on during the session.
With the prospective adoption of the proposed trauma designation rules, I know many of you may have questions regarding your next survey. I hope you will reach out to Terri Rowden with any of those questions or concerns. Our team is here for our hospital partners before, during, and after your survey for the support you may need, whether that is answering a question, education, consultation before a survey, or advocating needs.
I am grateful for all of you because of your commitment to providing the best trauma, acute, and stroke care for patients in Texas.
All the best,
Dinah

Happy fall to all of you! If you are a Level III or Level IV trauma registrar, I encourage you to take the TETAF Hospital Data Management Course (HDMC) on October 29-30. This course provides valuable registry training with continuing education for all registrars. It is one of our most popular courses. More details on registering are below.
Meanwhile, as Dinah mentioned, I am always happy to answer questions or meet with any of you regarding the proposed trauma designation rules. Before I joined the TETAF team, I was always grateful for how much TETAF is a resource to its hospital partners. All of us share a common goal of quality trauma care. Reach out to me anytime at trowden@tetaf.org.
